I was brought on to Lunacy as management by Steve and Mike, as I guess they know I have good contacts and experience in the field. The CSS team was looking really good, with some awesome top name players. I was in contact with many companies during a 1 week period trying to secure a sponsorship deal for the organisation. I was lucky enough to get a response from Seagate, who agreed to give financial support to the organisation once they saw we were competing amongst the very best. (Do you know how big Seagate is? As big as Intel.) I recruited the COD4 team after being told by "sex" that I could expect some great results from i34, as they were "as good as MYM, just not very well known". So, I took the team in just hoping that this would be the case. Evidently it wasnt. I decided to keep the team on as they seemed a nice group of lads, "sex" told me they would practice none stop for i35 to bring some results home to help with sponsorships for the team, however I doubt they have even racked up 40 hours of game play since i34, especially not practicing. Next came the "problems" with the CSS team. Any trialists which played with the team didn't like Mike, apparently because hes a douche etc etc. This of course led to a couple of the players leaving, followed by Steve. Ive known Steve for around 4-5 years now, and trust what he says. He told me what a mess Mike had made, and I decided to drop him from the team. Since the above, I have been ringing and emailing atleast 100 companies trying to get sponsorship under promises that the COD4 team would bring them more sales, y'know, the usual stuff to get sponsorships. I have also been paying a designer a considerable amount of money to develop and code the new Lunacy website (I would have done it myself, but I have a job, so simply did not have the time). I have been in contact with aaron, one of the COD4 players atleast once every 2 days asking for updates on the team, what I can do, and even offered to take time out to play with the team just to fill one of those last spots until they found players. Unfortunately "sex" has been in contact with another organisation behind my back whilst I have been working on the above, whilst telling me that the team is looking ok, with possible trialists. Nice. Have fun waiting until the next pre-invite applications lads. |
